Increase Conversion with New Apple Pay Features from Tranzzo

4 min read

Did you know that abandoned carts cost online businesses nearly $18 billion annually? One of the main reasons is the complicated payment process. With the new iOS 18 update, Apple has solved this issue: now Apple Pay will work not only in Safari but also in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and even Windows. For you, this means more completed purchases and higher conversion rates.

Tranzzo is one of the first providers to integrate this feature for our merchants. You will have the opportunity to fully leverage Apple Pay for your business.

How will this help increase your revenue?

With every new Apple Pay update, we at Tranzzo strive to provide the best experience for your customers and take your business to the next level. Here's why it matters:

1. More completed payments — up to 30% conversion growth
Previously, your customers may have been limited to Safari, but now that restriction is gone. They can choose their preferred browser and pay with Apple Pay without extra steps. This significantly increases the number of completed transactions. For many merchants, this means up to 30% more successful payments.

2. Payments in just seconds
Nobody likes spending time on long payment processes. Apple Pay remains one of the fastest ways to complete a purchase — just 22 seconds per transaction. Your customers won’t waste time, which reduces the risk of abandoned carts.

3. Maximum payment security
In addition to speed, Apple Pay’s key advantage is its built-in security features. Face ID, tokenization, and other tools ensure the reliability of transactions, minimizing fraud and chargebacks. This not only protects your business but also increases customer trust.

How does it work?

  • The customer selects Apple Pay in their preferred browser.
  • A QR code appears, which needs to be scanned using an iPhone.
  • After scanning, the customer confirms the payment as usual through Apple Pay.

This process is optimized for convenience, even in browsers where Apple Pay was previously unsupported.

Why is this update so significant?

  • Apple Pay processes approximately $6 trillion in payments annually, accounting for around 5% of all global card transactions.
  • Apple devices make up about 48% of the mobile devices in our merchant portfolio.
  • However, only 18% of global users choose Safari as their primary desktop browser, with most iPhone users favoring Chrome for shopping.

When will it be available?

We are already rolling out this feature for our merchants, and it will be available to you very soon. To test Apple Pay right now, visit https://applepaydemo.apple.com/ (iOS 18 required).
